Malverne Pastry Shop, 253 Hempstead Ave., Malverne: It's a popular bakery with pastries, cupcakes, cookies, cakes, and pies.

Jo Meigel in a Facebook recommendation on their page says,  "Their doughnuts, danish, pastries, cakes, tarts, and pies are simply the best! It's a beautiful place!

Sweetie Pies on Main, 181 Main St., Cold Spring Harbor: This is a country-style coffeehouse serving gourmet coffee, espresso, lunch,  pastries and pies.

Nadine Wilches in a Google review mentions, "Dark cherry pie with full cherries inside. Froze it for a week and it was perfect for our guests. Meets high expectations for pie."

Dortoni Cream Puff Bakery & Pastry Shoppe, 3264 Hempstead Turnpike, Levittown: Their motto is "If you can dream it we can create it." The bakery specializes in gourmet and wedding cakes, European tortes, Italian pastries, bread, desserts, and pies.

Krisch's Ice Cream Parlor, 11 Central Ave., Massapequa: It's a generations-old favorite. The 1950s-style diner has a long food menu and many ice cream flavors and sundaes, and a huge selection of homemade desserts, confectionaries, pies, and fine chocolates.
